On Dec. 11, the Dennisville Chair, also known as The Chair, finally left its resting point upon a dilapidated house in Cape May County.

Since its inception in July, the Chair Watch Facebook Group has amassed over 12,000 members since July, dubbed the 'Chair Watchers.'

And, as promised, they were the ones to deliver the news of The Chair's falling.

"So. Are we Suitcase Stalking now?" one user asked, referring to the red suitcase that followers had also noticed atop the house.

Another posted a photo of the chair to Robert Frost's poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay."

Since the loss of The Chair, rumors have circulated about getting the old piece of furniture immortalized in a museum, and the wooden wonder has been eulogized by its loyal guardians.

The Facebook page, started by admin Tony DiMeglio, took off over the summer as the chair and its precarious placement became a social media sensation, capturing the attention and hearts of those who were used to passing it on their commute to and from the shore.

Some even joked that the chair was a unifying factor between the locals and the "shoobies," all coming together to celebrate this one funky piece of furniture on Facebook.

Many have already begun throwing out ideas for what to watch next, and the suitcase seems to be pulling in the lead.

In the words of the loyal watchers, "Long live The Chair."
