Google Reveals Seattle's Top Search Trends For 2021
SEATTLE — Google its 21st annual "Year in Search" report Wednesday, chronicling the top trends across the United States and around the globe in 2021. Overall, some of this year's patterns reflected the evolving pandemic, as searches about where to find COVID-19 vaccines overtook testing for the top spot in the "near me" section. That trend was true both in Seattle and nationally.
On the national level, "stimulus check" landed among the top five news-related searches, and similar queries led in two other categories. For recipes, Americans searched the most for "TikTok pasta," where Washingtonians most frequently Googled deviled egg recipes.
