Republican voters overwhelmingly want the GOP to “be more like” former President Donald Trump than former Vice President Mike Pence.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t like Pence. According to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 69% said they look at him favorably.

The survey is one of the first to size up the potential 2024 race between Trump and Pence and the politics of the Republican Party.

Asked who the GOP should be most “like,” 64% chose Trump and 24% Pence.

Both have recently stepped back into the political spotlight though neither has said yet that they will run.

Pence, appearing at GOP fundraisers, made headlines recently when he said that he and Trump won't likely ever agree on what happened Jan. 6 when pro-Trump protesters entered the U.S. Capitol and Senate chamber as the electoral vote count was being completed.

And Trump has pushed off talk about teaming again with Pence, whom he disparaged for not stopping the vote count.

Among all voters, including Democrats, 49% said they have a favorable view of Pence versus 46% who do not.
