GOP pushes bill to fund private school scholarships
Maryland House and Senate Republicans pledged to fight for students left behind. The GOP caucus shared its support of House Bill 737 , also known as the Right to Learn Act of 2023, which would fully fund and stop the phase-out of the Maryland BOOST Scholarship Coalition . The program provides scholarships to low-income families to send their children to private and parochial schools. Republicans argued the governor cut the program's $10 million budget by 20% this fiscal year.
