Gophers add big Illinois linebacker Matt Kingsbury to 2023 class

Kingsbury didn’t have any other scholarship offers from Power Five programs but drew interest from many, including Purdue and Illinois and a group of Mid-American Conference teams.
He is the 22nd player in the U’s class for next season and its 18th high schooler. The early signing period opens Wednesday.
