Gophers defensive end Lorenza Surgers to transfer out
Gophers defensive end Lorenza Surgers said Monday he will enter the NCAA transfer portal with one season of eligibility remaining.
“I would like to thank the University of Minnesota for the opportunity to play and attend an amazing university,” Surgers wrote.
Surgers, who transferred to Minnesota from Vanderbilt a year ago, rarely played last season. He had four tackles, two pressures and one sack in 53 total snaps across six games.
Minnesota has had nine players leave the program since late November. They have had six players join via the portal this winter.
