Gophers volleyball sweeps Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — The Gophers volleyball team swept Rutgers in three sets on Sunday afternoon at Jersey Mike’s Arena, winning 25-11, 25-19, 26-24.

With the win, ninth-ranked Minnesota improves to 18-8 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten. The Gophers are 5-3 on the road in conference play and 6-4 overall.

Carter Booth led the Gophers with eight kills and five blocks, and Jenna Wenaas had six kills, seven digs and three blocks. Arica Davis went for a team-high eight blocks.

Alissa Kinkela led Rutgers (8-22, 2-16) with 11 kills.
