The virtual band Gorillaz has cancelled their September show in Austin.

The performance was set to take place Sept. 13 at Q2 Stadium, but an email sent to ticket holders today stated that "scheduling conflicts and circumstances beyond our control" have led to cancellation.

"We are gutted not to be able to perform for you this year," the Gorillaz said in the email. "We were really looking forward to it and we hope to get back to you again as soon as we can. We love our Gorillaz family, and we can't wait to see you again."

The Austin set was supposed to be a part of "The Getaway Shows," which begins Sept. 10 in Los Angeles. The band will also perform in Chicago on Sept. 16 and conclude with a Sept. 19 show in Boston.

Lil Yachty, Kaytranada and Remi Wolf will join the Gorillaz on their short tour.

The Gorillaz is a virtual band from England comprised of fictional members 2-D, Noodle, Murdoc Niccals and Russel Hobbs. The members appear as animated characters in music videos and even some performances.

Other live performances present the Gorillaz as hidden silhouettes or even as a live band in full view of the audience.
