He got into a debate while waiting to see President Trump. Then he pulled a gun, cops say.

Anticipation of Donald Trump’s upcoming visit attracted a group of supporters to Doral. A heated argument, intensified by the firing of a pistol, landed one of them in the back of a police car.

Luis Orlando Diaz, 73, was arrested Friday and charged with occupied vehicle burglary with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm in public, according to Doral police.

Hoping to catch a glimpse of Trump’s motorcade, Diaz joined a group of more than 100 people who gathered Friday near Northwest 87th Avenue and 29th Street.

A passing driver lowered his window and said something to Diaz, which sparked a debate between the two men.

The driver eventually sped off but made a U-turn to continue arguing with Diaz. As the exchange escalated, the septuagenarian went to his vehicle and grabbed a pistol.

When he returned, Diaz stuck the firearm inside the driver’s vehicle, according to police.

The driver took off but Diaz managed to shoot the vehicle’s tire, officers say.

Diaz was subsequently detained and taken to the Doral Police Station for questioning. Jail records show he’s being held without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
