Got kids? Check out these spring break camps in El Paso and Las Cruces

If you're working this spring, you might need some ideas to keep the kids entertained and safe during the school break. We have done the work for you and found some great camps to keep your kids busy this March.

But don't wait to enroll your kids, as some camps have limited space.

The El Paso Museum of Art offers a variety of art classes for kids from March 13-17. Topics include ceramics, mixed media and clay jewelry. Check out the various classes on the museum website, https://epma.art

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology will have its Chihuahuan Desert Nature Camp from March 7-11.

The camp is geared for ages 7 to 12 and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, plus a field trip on Saturday to the Franklin Mountains State Park Tom Mays Unit.

Kids will learn about how prehistoric people interacted with the environment around them and plant a 3 Sisters Garden with staff. Space is limited. For fees and registration, email ricoli@elpasotexas.gov or call 915-212-3272.

Top Golf El Paso, 365 Vin Rambla Drive, will offer a three-day spring break camp for kids ages 6-12 March 6-8, and March 13-15.

Children can be dropped off between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday. Lunch, from 11 to 11:30 a.m., is included. Cost: $139 per child. Register at Eventbrite.com

The Texas Culinary Institute, 2101 Texas Ave., will have a spring break cooking class from 9 a.m. to noon March 6-10. Kids will learn how to make a variety of dishes, including chicken meatballs, garlic-butter steak and potatoes, alfredo and marinara sauces and pasta, and wontons. The camp is for ages 7-17 and will cost $300. For more information: www.txculinary.com

The Little Gym, 6351 S. Desert Blvd., Building A, will offer two themed spring break camps March 5-11 and March 12-18. The Race to Outer Space is the first week, and The Search for the Rainbow Castle will be the second week. Both are for ages 3-8. Camps start at $35 per session. Las Cruces free spring break camp

The city of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will offer a two-week camp free of charge during the Las Cruces Public School spring break.

Spring Break Camp is open for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The camp will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 13-24 at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., and Booker T. Washington Elementary School, 755 E. Chestnut Ave.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Fees may apply for field trips.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Feb. 27 and will end at 5 p.m. March 6. Registration for the Spring Break Camp can be completed online at www.las-cruces.org/community or during regular business hours at the following locations:

  • Parks & Recreation Department administrative office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

  • Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
