Gottfried Returns to Day Pitney as Partner

Day Pitney has announced that Daniel L. Gottfried has rejoined the firm as a partner in the corporate and business law department and member of the tax practice group. Based in the firm's Hartford office, he will chair the international transactions practice.
Coming from Hinckley, Allen & Snyder, where he served as a partner, Gottfried is a former Day Pitney associate and immediate past chairman of the tax section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law and has been featured in the New York Times, on NPR and in the Hollywood Reporter, among other publications.

Scott Beach, chairman of Day Pitney's corporate and business law department. "Our clients in the U.S. and abroad will benefit from his deep experience with cross-border transactions and international tax matters.”
Gottfried’s practice focuses on business and investment transactions in the United States and around the world, including tax planning, corporate mergers, S corporations and taxes on intellectual property assets.
He has represented clients in manufacturing, fintech, wireless communications and insurance, as well as emerging industries, including blockchain, cryptocurrency and cannabis.

Day Pitney noted that the addition of Gottfried is part of a continued expansion of the firm's corporate and business law department, as well as its international practice, which has grown with the recent merger of South Florida's Richman Greer.
Gottfried earned his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Connecticut.
