Gov. Ron DeSantis took part in the coin toss on Merritt Island prior to the Class 5A state football semifinal game between Sebring and Merritt Island.

DeSantis was there with his wife, Casey, and their children.

The toss came up tails and Sebring won. They elected to kick off to the home team and receive the ball in the second half.

The winner of the state semifinal game will play for a state championship on Friday, Dec. 17, in Fort Lauderdale against the winner of the Baker County at Miami Central semifinal.
