Bump DeSantis' stand on bump stocks

I was horrified to read that our Governor spoke against current regulations on bump stocks and pistol braces. DeSantis was quoted as saying, "It's just a piece of plastic. All of a sudden people are going to be felons because they have a piece of plastic?" The regulations on bump stocks and pistol braces came after mass shootings in Colorado and in Las Vegas that killed 68 people total and wounded hundreds more. The gunmen purposely used those gun enhancements to mow down as many innocent people as they could, and they succeeded. Countless polls show the majority of voters overwhelmingly support commonsense gun laws, such as universal background checks, and bans on bump stocks and pistol braces. It's madness to even think about removing this one small piece of rationality against mass shootings.

Senators, leave my healthcare alone

My senators in Florida — Rick Scott and Marco Rubio —are trying take away health care to millions of people. I have people close to me with chronic illnesses that without insurance would die. Taking away the Affordable Care Act would be cruel but that seems to be the point. Our senators are not interested in the people they represent, in the least.

Post owes readers an explanation

Your USA Today Special Edition insert of Dec. 17 showed four photos of a wounded Palestinian woman and her children, a ball of fire above a Gaza building, relatives of a Palestinian family killed by an Israeli airstrike, and rubble of a building destroyed by an Israeli airstrike.

It was shocking to see those photos and more shocking that there wasn't one photo of the effects of the terror brought on innocent Israelis and others by Hamas. Where was a photo of the 1,200 Israelis and others who were savagely murdered, the hundreds who were wounded, or the 250 Israelis and others who were kidnapped and turned into hostages? This is something one would expect from antisemitic propagandists, not from a national newspaper. The Palm Beach Post should explain to its readers this disparity.

Where's Hamas' protests for peace?

I keep seeing stories and photos of protesters imploring for peace in the Middle East, more specifically for Israel to halt bombing. Even in Israel, such protest is permitted. When will I see people in Gaza protesting for peace by imploring Hamas to return the hostages? I suppose they'd be risking their lives by suggesting that path to a cessation. Hamas is willing to let their people and nation suffer a huge price, and for what, their tough image?
