Gov. Sanders says solar eclipse is an opportunity to expand state’s tourism

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — KNWA/FOX24 spoke to Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Wednesday about the upcoming solar eclipse with many Arkansas communities in the path of totality.
Sanders said tourism is the number two industry in the state and this is a great opportunity to expand that.
Buffalo National River prepares for solar eclipse
She name-dropped Mount Magazine and the Buffalo National River as great spots to enjoy the eclipse while also being able to hike, bike and canoe while enjoying the state’s beauty.
“We know it will have a huge economic impact but it also has a great quality of life impact. When people get outside, when they enjoy time with their families experiencing new things, we know that that makes for happier people and we hope that they’ll take advantage of doing that here in Arkansas,” Sanders said.
