The Ukrainian government will register the Made in Ukraine trademark, which will be made available to domestic businesses to boost their sales, according to a resolution approved by the Cabinet on Feb. 23.

The measure aims to clearly indicate to Ukrainian consumers which goods available to them were produced domestically, encouraging them to shore up Ukraine’s economy and employment.

The trademark’s design was proposed by the Economy Ministry and features a combination of the words "Made in Ukraine" and six vertical stripes, presumably in blue and yellow colors.

The ministry will now file an application to register the trademark and develop a corresponding brand book.

The trademark will be free to use for Ukrainian entrepreneurs, community organizations, local government bodies, state institutions, and other bodies.

Notably, one of the companies owned by oligarch Rinat Akhmetov moved to register a very similar trademark back in 2014, but the process was never complete.
