- Governor Polis has declared March 22, 2021 as Colorado Livestock Proud Day. The state's Livestock Association, dairy farmers, egg producers, pork producers, woolgrowers, and the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union made the request, and the governor signed the proclamation. So this comes after a meat melee between Polis and the state's Cattlemen's Association. The governor declared March 20th Meat Out Day in an effort for Coloradans to eat plant-based products for the day. The Cattlemen's Association fired back, declaring the same day as meat-in day, encouraging Coloradans to eat meat.
