Governor Polis visits mitigation site at Green Mountain Falls

Governor Polis and Lieutenant Governor Primavera celebrated this Colorado Day by touring a wildfire mitigation site in Green Mountain Falls. The site is supported by the Colorado Climate Corps, employing members of Mile High Youth Corps to help thin the forest area and protect the nearby community in the event of a wildfire. They were shown the more than 26-acre site that's been cleared, and spoke of the importance of this mission. The Mile High Youth Corps is a program supervised by Ameri-Corps for people ages 18 to 24. Colorado is one of the first states to have the youth program in place for fire mitigation.
