Regardless of how we all feel about that chill settling in deeper, we can all agree upon some tried and true methods of staying cozy and warm until the weather changes.

We’ve got our favorite blankets, our fluffiest slippers, thickest sweaters, warmest beverages, whatever keeps us feeling toasty.

Nothing quite beats a cup of soup though.

So if you’re looking for a place to grab a nice bowl of soup, or take it to go, we put together a list of some restaurants from around Greater Taunton serving up soup to warm both the hands and the soul.

Since it’s our list and we get to make the rules, we’re including soups, bisques, chowders, stews, chilis — you get the picture.

The Boondocks (Berkley)

On the menu: Soup of the day, French onion soup, and New England clam chowder, plus a special clam boil stew that is available on Friday and Saturday.

On the menu: The Chef’s Creation soup changes daily, and you can add a baked stuffed quahog to your order, for something a little extra special. They’ve also got creamy seafood bisque, with shrimp and scallops in a lobster base, garnished with herbed croutons.

On the menu: Coletti’s soups are served in a small or large cup, with choices of: chili, clam chowder, corn chowder, kale soup with linguiça, beef stew, chicken noodle or minestrone.

On the menu: There are several hearty soups to choose from. First, there’s sopa de albondigas: savory meatballs made with seasoned pork and beef, simmered in a broth made with garden veggies. It’s served with hot diced onions and cilantro. There’s also tortilla chicken soup, with strips of grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, and topped with crispy tortilla strips and avocado. Or you could try the green chili soup: savory chunks of seasoned pork, simmered in a Mexican-style charro bean soup, slow-cooked in a tomatillo-habanero sauce. Or how about the mariscos soup? It’s a seafood soup, made with shrimp, scallops, mussels, fish, crab legs, clams, vegetables, and spices.

The Great American Pub (Raynham)

  • Hours: Open seven days a week, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

On the menu: Soup of the day, New England clam chowder, and Texas firehouse chili. The chili comes with the option to add cheese and red onion. Why not treat yourself?

On the menu: It’s all about the classics at Grove Street Tavern. They have kale soup served with a roll, clam chowder, and “award-winning” chili served with tortilla chips.

Harry’s La Casa Mia (Raynham)

  • Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, from 5 to 11 p.m.; Sunday, from noon to 6 p.m.; Closed Monday

On the menu: Jade Lee’s soups are served with crispy noodles and come in pint or quart size. They’ve got wonton soup, egg drop soup, chicken rice soup, chicken noodle soup, hot and sour soup, house special soup, and three delight soup. The house special and three delight soups come in quart size and can serve two people.

On the menu: The obligatory fast food pick, Panera actually has some fairly decent soup selections. Their vegetarian autumn squash soup is creamy and hearty, topped with toasted pumpkin seeds. They’ve also got turkey chili, broccoli cheddar soup, chicken noodle soup, creamy tomato soup, vegetable soup, cream of chicken and wild rice soup, and French onion soup. If you’ve got an appetite, you can also order the soup in a bread bowl.

The Pearl (Taunton)

  • Where: 76 Weir St.

  • Hours: Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to midnight; Friday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Closed Tuesday

On the menu: They’ve got a soup of the day, plus you can get a cup or bowl of warm and comforting Portuguese soup.

  • Hours: Monday and Tuesday, from 4:30 to 10 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Closed Sunday

On the menu: Soups at Riverhouse are served with goldfish crackers, and you can also order soup in a bread bowl. They’ve got clam chowder, tomato basil and a daily choice. If you want to get extra cozy, you can call ahead to reserve one of their igloos. Your reservation comes with a choice of cider or hot chocolate, and the booking fee goes to local charities.
