Graduation ceremony held for Sturgis High School class of 2022

Sturgis High School class of 2022 held its graduation ceremony Sunday, outdoors at the football field, where friends and family of the graduates gathered to celebrate.

The event opened with students walking along the track, in pairs of two, to their seats, as the band played “Pomp and Circumstance."

As they were seated, the select senior choral sang the "The Star Spangled Banner." It was followed by a welcome speech from principal Nicholas Herblet.

Another song was sung by choir members. It was followed by remarks from superintendent Arthur Ebert.

Class speaker was Mathew Toner, who also received the honor of Student of the Year.

Presentation of the class was given by assistant principal Sarah Arreola as members of the board of education handed diplomas to graduates.

Pronouncement of graduation was led by student body president Tina Tran.
