Chat show host Graham Norton has admitted that he sometimes forgets who he's actually interviewed on The Graham Norton Show.

This is a guy who's sat across from Quentin Tarantino, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Steve Carrell, Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd and Colin Farrell (and that's just to name but a few), which to anyone else would be a momentous occasion.

So, what's with this forgetfulness?

Chatting on his BBC Radio 2 show this weekend, Norton revealed: "I was just in America promoting something, and people ask you about the show and they go 'What was it like interviewing so and so?' And I'm like, 'Sorry? Did I interview them?'

"Yes, you did, you did the really funny thing with them. 'Did I?'"

Aside from lapses of memory, the presenter has also spoken about how some guests can ruin the atmosphere in the studio.

"There's the guest sitting on the couch thinking, 'But I love this show. Tonight just, I don't know, it's just not that good tonight,' and you're like, 'Because you're on it. Because you're here. You're ruining it.'

"It happens quite often where people are like, 'Normally this show is so fun', and I was like, 'Yeah, but you're here. You carry this with you. You kill every room you enter.'"

The Graham Norton Show will return on Friday, September 27 on BBC One at 10.35pm.
