Grain restaurant in Norfolk reopens after fire in kitchen

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Grain has reopened after a kitchen fire on Friday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the restaurant, they are planning to reopen around 12:30 p.m.

The social media post reads:

“Grain is ready for business! We experienced a small mechanical issue and it has been resolved. We look forward to seeing everyone when we open at 12:30!”

Norfolk Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Norfolk Hilton The Main.

Officials said the fire was reported at 7:22 a.m. at the Grain restaurant located on the 5th floor of the hotel.

Crews arrived to the scene and found an active fire isolated to a gas range in the kitchen area.

The fire was considered under control by 7:32 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue also responded to a fire near the Granby Street Bridge just 22 minutes after responding to the Grain fire.
