America is perhaps best known for major hits such as "A Horse with No Name" and "Ventura Highway." The band was nominated for two Grammys in 1973, Best New Artist and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, taking home the award for Best New Artist.

Formed in England in 1970 by Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek -- who left the band in 1977 and died in 2011 -- America released their debut album on Capitol in 1971, which hit No.1 in the United States. Bunnell and Peek continue as band lead singers and songwriters.
