Grammy Awards 2023: Luke Combs, Brandi Carlile among first confirmed performers

Country hitmaker Luke Combs and Americana storyteller Brandi Carlile join a list of A-list talent set to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
Alongside Combs and Carlile, an initial round of confirmed performers include "About Damn Time" singer Lizzo, best-selling rapper Bad Bunny, R&B legend Mary J. Blige and "Unholy" collaborators Sam Smith and Kim Pateras, among others. Additional artists plan to be announced in the coming days, according to the Recording Academy.
Combs and Carlile — two artists with deep ties to Nashville music-making — head into the 2023 Grammy Awards with multiple nominations, respectively. Combs competes for Best Country Song, Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance; Carlile earned seven nominations this year, including Record Of The Year, Album of the Year and Best Americana Album.
The 65th annual Grammy Awards returns Feb. 5 to the Crypto.com Arena (formerly the Staples Center) in downtown Los Angeles. Comedian Trevor Noah hosts the primetime ceremony, which kicks off at 7 p.m. CST on CBS and Paramount+.
