Country singer and Northern Kentucky native Carly Pearce had a good night on Sunday, taking home her first-ever Grammy Award.

Pearce took home the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Ashley McBryde for their duet "Never Wanted To Be that Girl." This was the first Grammy Award for both Pearce and McBryde, who accepted the honor together on Sunday night.

Pearce was born in Taylor Mill, about seven miles outside of Covington.

"I was working on a record, and I heard ... I've known Ashley for a long time and I just wanted to sing a song with her. And we wrote this song, and it has just transcended so many of my wildest dreams, real music, real country music," Pearce said when accepting the award.

While this is Pearce's first Grammy, this is far from her first award win. Again with McBryde, she also won Musical Event of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards in November 2022 for "Never Wanted To Be That Girl," her third CMA win.

And in 2021, Pearce won Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMAs.
