“Admired for his musical intelligence, dynamic personality, and artistic vision, Goldstein notably performed as a teenager in his native Tel Aviv with the Israel Philharmonic under the baton of Zubin Mehta,” a news release says.

Goldstein has performed in a myriad of symphonies, including in Philadelphia, London, France, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, St. Louis, Dallas, Houston, Toronto and Vancouver.

“Also an avid solo recitalist and chamber musician, he was nominated this year for a Grammy award for chamber music,” the release says.

Goldstein studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University under pianist and mentor Leon Fleisher. After graduation, he became a Performer Fellow at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and artist-in-residence at the Theo Lieven piano academy in Como, Italy, according to the release.

Along with his performances, Goldstein has held teaching engagements around the world, including at the International Keyboard Festival and Institute in New York, Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy, International Piano Festival in Gijon, Spain, and Tel Hai master classes in his native Israel.

Goldstein is currently the distinguished visiting professor at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

“In addition to the concert performance, Alon Goldstein will be sharing his talent and love for music education in an outreach event for the Boys and Girls Club of Story County, supported by a generous donation from the Greater Iowa Credit Union,” Paula Forrest, artistic director for Ames Town & Gown, said in the news release.
