Grammy-winning artist Samara Joy headlining 2024 Rochester International Jazz Festival

Grammy-Award-winning jazz singer Samara Joy has been announced as one of the headliners for the 2024 Rochester International Jazz Festival.

Growing up in the Bronx, Joy has always been surrounded by music, with her grandparents and father working in gospel.

Joy started her journey singing in church until joining her high school jazz band. She continued her love for music by studying in the SUNY Purchase College jazz program and is now a  “silky-voiced rising star” who is “helping jazz take a youthful turn,” according to The New York Times.
