Mar. 20—GRAND FORKS — One person suffered minor injuries in a Grand Forks apartment fire on Sunday, March 20.

At around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 401 N. 12th St. for a report of a structure fire, according to a GFFD news release.

Crews arrived on scene to find smoke and fire visible from a window on the first floor of a two-story, six-unit apartment building.

Fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire, containing smoke and fire damage to the one unit, according to the release. The smoke and fire damage to that unit was significant, GFFD said, and that tenant was displaced while all other tenants were allowed back into their apartments around 3:30 p.m.

The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck and one command vehicle with 18 personnel.

One tenant of the apartment complex suffered minor injuries, was evaluated by Altru paramedics on scene but not transported to the hospital, the release said.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
