Grand Forks Public Health offering hepatitis A vaccines

Feb. 20—GRAND FORKS — Following a UND food service worker's reported hepatitis A case, Grand Forks Public Health is offering walk-in vaccine clinics on Tuesday, Feb. 20, and Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The clinics will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at GFPH, which is located at 151 S. 4th St., Suite N301.

Individuals who worked, dined at or ordered takeout from the UND Memorial Union Chik-fil-A on the following dates were exposed, according to a GFPH press release:

* Jan. 15, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

* Jan. 16, 11 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

* Jan 17, 5 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

* Jan. 22, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

* Jan. 23, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Jan. 24, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

* Jan. 26, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

* Feb. 4, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Feb. 6, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Feb. 7, 5 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Unvaccinated individuals who might have been exposed are advised to get vaccinated within 14 days of exposure, the release said. In addition to GFPH, healthcare providers and express clinics can administer the hepatitis A vaccine.

"GFPH encourages those who suspect exposure during the mentioned dates to take necessary precautions and seek vaccination promptly to prevent illness," the release said.
