PORTSMOUTH — Baker Newman Noyes, a top 100 accounting and advisory firm celebrated the opening of its new Portsmouth office with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The office at 75 Portsmouth Boulevard encourages a new kind of work. Featuring a training and education center, offices and adaptable workspaces that support the firm’s transition to a ‘hoteling’ work model, the Portsmouth office is designed to meet the needs of BNN’s hybrid workforce.

The newly renovated 6,500 square-foot office was designed with a flexible, activity-based model to support employees with dedicated workstations for focus, teamwork and integrated, flexible technology. Through the ‘hoteling’ system, employees can book cubicles, private offices and phone rooms for individual work and virtual meetings or reserve collaborative spaces, team rooms and portable monitors for group work coordination.

A “Collaborative Café” style kitchen and lounge offers a place for casual conversation and a wellness room helps support all sides of employee wellbeing. A key feature of the new location is the first-of-its-kind training center and event calendar to make the most of in-person learning, relationships and personal development.

The firm relocated from their prior office on Arboretum Drive to the new space on Portsmouth Boulevard. The office serves as the collaborative hub for approximately 30 BNN employees based in the Portsmouth area and connects BNN’s offices in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts as a central location and meeting point for the firm. While Thursday’s festivities marked the official ribbon cutting for the office space, employees began utilizing it in December.

PORTSMOUTH — Meredith Village Savings Bank has purchased $17,500 in tax credits through the Community Development Authority to support the Warner House Association’s Carriage House Project. The project is aimed to construct a replica of the 18th Century Carriage House in downtown Portsmouth, which was demolished in the 1960s.

The Carriage House will feature a meeting room, rotating exhibits, staging area for outdoor events and an archaeology collection. Construction broke ground in November and the project is expected to be completed this spring.

“Our museum association is grateful for the support MSVB has provided to help us realize our decades-long dream of reconstructing the Carriage House,” said Corey Boucher, Treasurer of the Warner House Association Board of Volunteer Governors. “The completed structure will serve as a gathering space for many community groups and further develop and preserve the rich history of the region."

“The Warner House Association plays a vital role in preserving history and bringing educational opportunities to our community,” said Jim Carrigan, MVSB Regional Vice President. “We are very proud to provide this support to help expand their facilities and programming and we hope everyone has a chance to visit and enjoy the new space when it opens this year.”
