The Grand Tour's Richard Hammond talks moments of 'real peril'

The Grand Tour is back for a new series of feature-length episodes called A Scandi Flick, which sees Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May travel across the cold and icy countries of Scandinavia — sometimes carrying whole buildings behind them.
While much of it looks as silly as we'd expect from the trio, Hammond has teased that "real peril" was involved while filming it.
Speaking at a press roundtable recently (via Radio Times), he said: "We are in real peril because we've learnt – I personally have learnt, and now James has learnt better than most people – that just because you're doing telly doesn't mean things can't go wrong. They do.

"And I've ended up in hospital with things broken, including my brain, because they do and there's nothing you can do, there's no magic wand. There's no protective TV bubble... Accidents can happen, circumstances can change, things can go wrong and break and they do."
Hammond famously had a major crash in 2006 that caused him brain injury and memory loss and left him in a severe coma for two weeks. He had another, smaller, crash in an earlier season of The Grand Tour.
May himself was also involved in an accident while filming for this special, for which he ended up in the hospital. He didn't receive any permanent or major damage, however.
"It was very brief," May said. "Made a loud bang. It wasn't really that terrible, I don't think. It looks quite dramatic but I was basically OK. The car wasn't, the car was pretty bent actually. I didn't think it was gonna go again."
