Granville High School students perform Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 'Cinderella'
The Granville High School Theatre and Music Departments will be performing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s "Cinderella" on May 6 at 7 p.m. and May 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Granville High School Performing Arts Center. "Cinderella" is the classic story that you all know and love. The story follows a young woman who is forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and selfish stepsisters. She dreams of a better life where she is not treated so poorly, and with the help of her fairy godmother, this becomes her reality.
More than 100 students are involved with this production, which is directed by Sara Wiper Sharp, Kristen Snyder and Stefanie Stanton. Set design and technical direction is by Tim Stanton. The orchestra pit is directed by Bruce Piper. Stage management is provided by Sophia Mitton Fry, Arrow Havill, Ella Holtsberry and Kate Miller. The student director is Ethan Rich and the student assistant technical director is Willow Heichel. The show stars Katie Menster as Cinderella, Coen Cox as the Prince, George Turner and Anna Belt as the King and Queen, Ellie Hussey as the evil Stepmother, Juniper George and Lanie Schott as the stepsister, and Ava Poling as the fairy godmother.
