Grease fire burns Del Valle home; no one hurt, AFD says

DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) – The Austin Fire Department said no one was hurt after a fire burned a home in Del Valle late Tuesday night.

According to a social media post from AFD, the fire on Seattle Slew Drive started as a cooking grease fire in the kitchen.

AFD said everyone was able to get safely out of the two-story home.

The fire department issued a call for a single-alarm structure fire at 11 p.m. At 11:57 p.m., AFD posted the fire was under control.

Seattle Slew Drive is in the Berdoll Farms neighborhood near Ross Road and Pearce Lane.

What is a single-alarm structure fire?

For single-alarm structure fires, AFD responds with 24 firefighters and two battalion chiefs. That includes four engines, two ladder trucks and a rescue unit.
