'Grease' is the word at Pineville High this weekend: Showtimes, tickets, who's performing

Pineville High Theatre will present "Grease the Musical" Thursday through Sunday at the school's auditorium.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $12-$18 at pinevillehightheatre.com or at the door.

"Grease the Musical," a play made popular by the blockbuster 1978 movie, is set in the 1950s at the fictional Rydell High. Sandy and Danny had a summer romance thinking they would never see each other again. Unknown to both of them, Sandy has transferred to Rydell, where Danny is the coolest guy in school and leader of the Burger Palace Boys. He wants to maintain his tough-guy reputation in spite of still caring for Sandy.

The play stars Matthew McQuain as Danny Zuko, Karly Stansell and Laura Carroll as Sandy, Andrew Abbott as Kenickie, Ashleigh Coleman and Sophia Thompson as Rizzo, Gibson Russell as Roger, Madeline Neal and Katelyn Bush as Jan, Charles Bubenzer as Doody, Addison Twidwell as Frenchy, Rocco Canfield as Sonny, Kelly Lohman and Donalyn White as Marty, Kara Speir and Ada Shoup as Patty Simcox, Claire Groh as Eugene, Sawyer Wells as Johnny Casino, Sarah Monroe as Miss Lynch, Makenzie Honor as Cha-Cha; Keagan Moore as Vince Fontaine, Gibson Russell as Teen Angel, and Katelyn Bush as Sandy Understudy.

Portraying the Burger Palace Boys are Matthew McQuain, Andrew Abbott, Gibson Russell, Sawyer Wells, Rocco Canfield and Charles Bubenzer.

Portraying the Pink Ladies are Karly Stansell, Laura Carroll, Donalyn White, Kelly Lohman, Sophia Thompson, Madeline Neal, Addison Twidwell, Ashleigh Coleman, Katelyn Bush and Annie Tran.
