The Great British Bake Off champion Giuseppe Dell'Anno has opened up about how he is keeping in touch with the show's other contestants.

Appearing on Lorraine this morning (29 November), the Italian baker explained how this year's 12 participants are all still talking to each other on a daily basis on their WhatsApp group.

Asked if he's still talking to any of the other bakers, Giuseppe explained, "We’ve got a WhatsApp group," adding how "they’re the first people I speak to in the morning and the last people I speak to in the evening.

"I’m hoping it’s going to last because I love all of them," he added.

Lorraine, who was moved by the story, said: “You will, you’ll be pals for life.”

During the interview, Lorraine also presented Giuseppe with a plea from fans who have been calling for him and Jürgen Krauss, who came in fourth in this year’s edition, to host their own baking show together.

The Italian engineer from Bristol only laughed at that proposition, so that one might remain in fans’ imaginations for now.

However, in the Bake Off finale, it was revealed that Giuseppe is working on a book with his father to publish some of their recipes.

Posting a photo of himself on Instagram with the winner's trophy last week, Giuseppe wrote: "You think you know what you’re getting yourself into when you sign up… it’s a physically, psychologically and emotionally draining experience. But also exciting and exhilarating.

"And I could have never done it without the support of my wife, my fellow bakers and the constant support from the production team!

"Thank you all out there, for reaching out and showering me with love! I will be forever grateful!"
