'The Great British Baking Show’s' New Host Reportedly Ate Too Many Treats And Made Himself Sick On The First Day

From Delish

ICYMI: The Great British Bake-Off, known in the U.S. as The Great British Baking Show, quietly began filming at the end of last month after being delayed because of COVID-19 concerns. When the show returns, it's going to look a bit different as it'll possibly lack Paul Hollywood's iconic handshake and it will feature new host Matt Lucas. And if filming a new season pushed back by a pandemic wasn't stressful enough, Matt reportedly had a tough first day on the job.

An unnamed "TV insider" recently told The Sun that Matt, who replaced co-host Sandi Toksvig, ate a bit too many of the contestants' bakes on his first day and became ill. Now before you cast judgement, his logic makes total sense: "When he saw all the treats on offer he took the opportunity to do what he couldn’t as a viewer—taste them," the insider apparently said.

WHO AMONG US has not watched this show and dreamt of eating every last one of the baker's iconic treats? Let he who has not eaten cake directly out of the pan while watching PBS cast the first stone.

That said, there are a whopping 12 contestant making treats that first week, let alone if they filmed more than one round in a day. That's a lot of cake. That's why, as the insider said, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith only eat a bit when they judge. You'd think his new co-host Noel Fielding would have clued him in but ya know! You live and learn.

I just hope we get to see this play out on the show...well like not actually play out because ew, but you know what I mean.
