Great Crossing High School defeated Lexington Catholic 3-2 in eight innings at Henry Clay High School on Wednesday night to win the 11th Region Tournament softball championship.

The victory earned the Warhawks a spot in the 2023 Softball State Tournament to be played June 1-3 and June 9-10 at the University of Kentucky’s John Cropp Stadium in Lexington.

Sixth-ranked Great Crossing (30-4) opens play in the 16-team single-elimination state tournament on Friday, June 2 at 9 p.m. against fifth-ranked Henderson County (29-5), the champions from the 2nd Region.
