Great Falls man accused of sexually assaulting three young girls

A Great Falls man faces multiple felony charges for allegedly molesting three young girls over an extended period of time.

Randolph Scott Ferres, 80, is charged with four felonies, including three counts of sexual assault of girls under the age of 16.

The following information is from charging documents. The defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty.

On Wednesday, detectives with the Great Falls Police Department and a staff member of the Department of Family Services conducted an interview with a girl who said Ferres began touching her inappropriately at the age of 10 or 11.

The girl told police on one occasion that Ferres touched and rubbed her “private area,” according to the affidavit, while on a car trip from Missoula to Great Falls. In a different incident, she said Ferres again touched her inappropriately while in his bed. The girl told police that Ferres would also come up behind her on several occasions and touch her genitals underneath her clothing.

The girl told police that when she told Ferres she did not want to be touched, he became angry and told her he could go to jail if she told anyone.

An interview was conducted with a second girl, who alleged that Ferres would come into her room when she was getting dressed and would tell her that he thought she was attractive. The second girl also said that Ferres had touched her inappropriately on one occasion and several times had found him standing over her while she was in bed sleeping.

A third girl was also interviewed by police and DFS, saying when she was 9 years old Ferres showed her pornography on the computer and touched her genitals. The girl also alleged that Ferres touched her in the same way while lying in bed on another occasion.

The girl said in the interview that Ferres had taken naked pictures of her and another one of the alleged victims, adding that he also had a box containing sex toys and pairs of their underwear.

According to the affidavit, Ferres agreed to speak with police without an attorney present. He allegedly said he may have accidentally touched one of the girls inappropriately while “rough housing,” but later said he never had. He reportedly admitted to watching pornography, but denied the alleged abuse.

The State has requested a bond of $100,000 in the case. If convicted of sexual assault, Ferres faces four years to life in prison for each count.
