Badin 16, Wapakoneta 9 - FINAL
Badin’s season may have a perfect record, but it hasn’t been 13 weeks of blowouts for the Rams and their regional semifinal with Wapakoneta was a grind. Badin had a pair of touchdowns early, but had to withstand a game of field goals to earn a one-score win. Zach Yordy, who had 14 yards on five attempts, opened scoring with a one-yard run with 7:26 left in the first. Early in the second, quarterback Alex Ritzie found Carson Cheek for a 31-yard score and a 13-0 lead. A battle of field goals put Wapakoneta down 16-9 with 6:17 left in the game. Badin took possession and wiped out the rest of the clock to clinch its regional final appearance. The 13-0 Rams will meet Tippecanoe for the regional title on Nov. 18.

Lloyd 41, Walton-Verona 0 - FINAL
Walton-Verona may have outgained Lloyd 320-302, but the Juggernauts still held strong on defense for a shutout. The 27-point third quarter didn’t hurt either. Walton-Verona held Lloyd to just a 7-0 lead in the first before a pick six from Isaiah Sebastian gave the Juggernauts a 14-0 lead. Lloyd’s night could have been successful stopping there, but then the offense exploded out of the half. Sebastian found 31 yards in front of him for a score before Lloyd’s Kaiden Zulager scored two-straight touchdowns, including an 88-yard dash. Lloyd had 267 yards on the ground, including 220 on 18 rushes for Zulager.

Frederick Douglass 33, Covington Catholic 6 - FINAL
Covington Catholic’s season ended as the Colonels were held to just 47 yards of offense while undefeated Frederick Douglass flexed its muscles for 33 points and just a defensive touchdown allowed. Covington Catholic’s Josh Flood recovered a fumble in the first quarter, but a failed two-point attempt left a 6-0 colonel lead. Three minutes later, Frederick Douglass took the lead with a 15-yard pass from Cole Carpenter to Cameron Dunn. The two scored again on a 34-yard pass and a 14-6 Covington Catholic deficit. The Colonels’ 47 yards come mostly from Owen Leen who had 30 yards on the ground. CovCath quarterback Zaccary Roberts was held to just 3-7 passing for 14 yards and an interception. Roberts was sacked five times.
