Greater Cincinnati schools have new leaders: A list of new superintendents, principals

It's not unusual for school administrators to bounce from district to district. Last fall, seven school districts in Greater Cincinnati started the school year under a new superintendent and more than 30 schools welcomed new principals.

While there was less of a shuffle this summer, several local schools underwent leadership changes and will welcome new faces when the new school year begins.

Marlon Styles stepped away from his superintendent role at Middletown City School District last year. Deb Houser stepped in in January.

“My goal as superintendent is to ensure that the district doesn’t miss a beat. I look forward to continuing to serve the amazing Middie community while guaranteeing the new strategic vision comes alive,” Houser said when she was appointed.

Elgin Card is the new superintendent of Princeton City Schools, replacing the retired Tom Burton. Card has worked in the district before, but most recently served Lakota Local Schools as senior director of diversity and inclusion and ombudsman.

In August Clermont Northeastern also welcomed a new superintendent: Tim Sies. Sies has worked in education for 22 years, including as a teacher, athletic coach, assistant principal, principal, campus director and positive school culture and safety manager.

“There are so many things that attracted me to CNE,” Sies said in a press release. “I’m big on culture and pride, and CNE has that in spades! I can’t tell you how proud I am to now be a part of this community and tradition. When it comes down to it, however, it’s really about the people. Everyone I have met and interacted with are friendly, hard-working, and, most importantly, work to keep the students at the heart of every decision made and take action.”

Elizabeth Lolli announced in January that she was leaving Dayton Public Schools. Starting in July she will be interim superintendent at Lakota Local Schools.
