Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce elects new board members

DOVER — Members of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce approved the nominations of three new board members at the organization’s annual meeting on Sept. 21. Senior human resources officer Diane Carroll of Great Bay Community College, President John Gilbert of Martineau Electric, and certified public accountant Abby Lamothe from Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, P.A., will begin their first three-year terms effective immediately.

The following individuals have been approved by the board for their second three-year terms: Dr. Mike Cooledge of Thrive Family Chiropractic, Christopher G. Parker from the city of Dover, and Glenn Sabalewski of Seacoast Media Group.

The 2023 slate of officers includes Cooledge as chair, Chair-elect Ian Oneail (Bangor Savings Bank), Vice Chair Benjamin Bradley (Wentworth-Douglass Hospital), Treasurer Brieanna Pettengill (Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, P.A.), and immediate past chair Renee Touhey-Childress (Dover Children’s Home).

As part of the event, immediate past chair Shawn Olsten, along with chamber staff, paid tribute to two outgoing board members whose terms have ended. Mike Blanchette of Liberty Mutual Insurance and Kelly Glennon of Jewelry Creations both served the chamber well, providing guidance, financial oversight, and overall good judgement. As a token of appreciation, the chamber presented the two outgoing board members with gifts of framed artwork by Dover artist Susan E. Hanna.

The annual meeting was held at D.F. Richard Energy at its Dover headquarters. The meeting also served as a Business Open House networking event for GDCC members.
