Greater Lansing graduations: What you need to know

LANSING — As the weather finally warms in Michigan and the school year enters the final stretch, high school seniors are preparing for graduation. This year graduations across mid-Michigan begin as early as Wednesday, May 17, and continue through the second week of June.

Many graduation ceremonies will be held on school grounds while others will utilize local venues such as the Breslin Center and the Lansing Center.

The list below provides the date, location and time for more than 30 upcoming graduation ceremonies in the area for those interested in joining the celebrations of several thousand graduating seniors.

Wednesday, May 17

Pewamo-Westphalia High School — Pirate Stadium from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (weather permitting)

Thursday, May 18

Owosso High School — Willman Football Field at Owosso High School at 7 p.m.

Friday, May 19

Laingsburg — Laingsburg High School football stadium at 7 p.m.

Sunday, May 21

Okemos High School — Breslin Center at 1 p.m.

Portland St. Patrick Catholic School — Portland St. Patrick Catholic School gymnasium at 1 p.m.

Bath High School — Bath High School at 2 p.m.

DeWitt High School — DeWitt High School from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Fowler High School — Fowler High School athletic center at 2 p.m.

Fulton High School — Fulton High School football stadium from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lansing Catholic High School — Lansing Catholic High School gymnasium from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Ovid-Elsie High School — Ovid-Elsie High School at 2 p.m.

Dansville High School — Dansville High School from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Stockbridge High School — Stockbridge High School from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Carson City-Crystal — Carson City-Crystal High School at 4 p.m.

Wednesday, May 24

Ashley Community Schools — Ashley Community School at 7 p.m.

Thursday, May 25

Portland High School — Commencement will be held outside at the high school. Time is weather-dependent, will most likely be decided on Monday, May 22, officials said.

Potterville High School — Potterville High School at 6 p.m.

Ithaca High School — Ithaca High School from 7-9 p.m.

Thursday, June 1

St. Johns High School — St. Johns High School football stadium at 7 p.m.

Friday, June 2

East Lansing High School — Breslin Center at 7 p.m.

Lansing Christian High School — Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Rd., at 7 p.m.

Leslie High School — Leslie High School football stadium at 7 p.m.

Eaton Rapids High School — Eaton Rapids High School at 6 p.m.

Saturday, June 3

Waverly High School — Breslin Center at 7 p.m.

Charlotte High School — Wharton Center from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday, June 4

Haslett High School — Breslin Center at 1 p.m.

Olivet High School — Olivet High School football stadium at 1:30 p.m.

Bellevue High School — Bellevue High School at 2 p.m.

Lansing Eastern High School — Lansing Center at 10 a.m.

Lansing Sexton High School — Lansing Center at 1:30 p.m.

Lansing Everett High School — Lansing Center at 4 p.m.

Holt High School — Breslin Center from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Williamston High School — Wharton Center from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Mason High School — Mason High School field house from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Friday, June 9

Grand Ledge High School — Breslin Center from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
