Greater Richmond area: SNOUTreach adoption event, 18 shelters offer waived or reduced fees
Tri-Cities — Looking for a fur friend? The Community SNOUTreach adoption event is this weekend. The community-wide happening takes place at 18 public and private shelters.
The goal of Community SNOUTreach is to boost dog adoptions and increase kennel space around the region. Petersburg Animal Care and Control, Colonial Heights Animal Services, Prince George County Animal Services and Hopewell Animal Services plan to participate.
Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond, municipal shelters and private animal rescue organizations will offer reduced or waived adoption fees in an effort to send hundreds of homeless dogs into loving homes.
Along with the Richmond metro area, 13 additional localities from Piedmont to the Middle Peninsula will take part in the adoption event coordinated by the Richmond SPCA and Ring Dog Rescue.
Discover a canine companion this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 11 - 13 across metro Richmond and beyond. Regional shelters will perform offsite adoptions on Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Richmond SPCA.
