Greater Sacramento NAACP president talks about keeping MLK's legacy alive

Betty Williams, president of the greater Sacramento chapter of the NAACP, joined KCRA 3 on Monday to talk about this year’s theme for MLK Day, reclaim MLK. “One of the many things that Dr. Martin Luther King fought for was inclusiveness, nonviolence and our Voting Rights Act that was passed in 1965. And the fact that we’re here in 2022 fighting to get our voting rights act passed at Congress at this point is different to say the least,” she said. Reclaiming the dream has to do with reclaiming voting rights and allocating resources on fair housing and addressing homelessness, she said.
