Greece not to transfer S-300 systems to Ukraine, says PM Mitsotakis

During a dinner in honor of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Athens late on Feb. 20, Mitsotakis said that it would be impossible for Greece to allow there to be a gap in its defense system without making prompt replacement arrangements.

As reported by the news website, Athens wants to work with the United States to decommission its Russian-made weapons.

Also, both sides are preparing for a program to widely replace the Russian weapons with U.S. weapons.

Earlier the media reported that Greece was ready to transfer its Russian-made S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine only if the United States deploys its Patriot anti-missile systems in the southern Greek island of Crete instead.
