Greek lawyer blasts Manchester United star Harry Maguire’s version of brawl as ’fantasy tale’

Harry Maguire is back on defense.

The Greek prosecutor who won an aggravated assault and attempted bribery conviction against Manchester United’s captain Tuesday has taken his case to the court of public opinion.

“He should really stay silent, not twist the truth and come up with fantasy tales,” Ioannis Paradissis told the Guardian. “The court convicted him on all counts, and that is because there was overriding evidence.”

Maguire, 27, has appealed the guilty verdict and told the BBC on Friday that he was “scared for his life” during the street brawl on the island of Mykonos.
