GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Launched as a women’s soccer team in 2019, the Green Bay Glory is launching a men’s soccer team to compete in the Midwest Premier League in the Heartland Conference.

Founded by Kerry Geocaris and Melissa Cruz-Cuene, the women’s team has had success, and now Geocaris’ son, Elliot Bordini, is spearheading the men’s team. Bordini, a collegiate soccer player, will look to help replicate the women’s team’s success.

“I’ve admired what Glory has accomplished, and what they are doing for the female athletes and community is incredible,” said Elliot Bordini, the son of the founder of Green Bay Glory’s women’s team. “I want to be a part of providing opportunities for players like myself who want to stay in love with the game and aspire to make something of themselves on and off the field.”

Geocaris is excited to work alongside her son to bring more exposure to the men’s and women’s teams.

“I am thrilled by the natural progression of our organization to now include a men’s soccer team,” added Geocaris. “The community support for the women’s team has laid a solid foundation for the men’s team to thrive. With this expansion, we aim to make an even greater impact, uniting our community through the beautiful game.”

Midwest Premier League Commissioner Patrick Hodgins issued a statement welcoming the Green Bay Glory and is excited to see what the team can do in its inaugural season.
