Report: Aaron Rodgers, after vague announcement, is engaged to Shailene Woodley

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers shocked the sports world while accepting the NFL MVP award on Saturday night by dropping the bombshell news that he is engaged.

Rodgers, though, did not mention who his new fiancée is.

Now, it seems, the news has been cleared up.

People: Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley are engaged

Multiple anonymous sources confirmed to People on Monday that Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley had been dating and are in fact engaged.

“They are very happy together,” a source told People. “It’s not surprising he proposed so fast. When you know, you know, right?”

Rodgers hinted at the news twice during his acceptance speech during Saturday’s NFL awards show, which he did remotely through a taped speech.

“2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing memorable moments,” Rodgers said. “180 straight days of having my nose hairs scraped. Playing for very little fans or no stands in the entire season. I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career.”

Rodgers later thanked his fiancée when he thanked a number of people for their off-field support.

Rodgers had previously dated former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, but that reportedly ended last July. He had previously dated actress Olivia Munn, too. It’s unclear when Rodgers’ relationship with Woodley, 29, started — as rumors of their relationship only surfaced last week. Woodley is known best for her roles in HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” the “Divergent” series and “The Fault in Our Stars.”
