Green Olive shooter suspected to be in Mexico

A 22-year-old man accused of shooting a Visalia nightclub bouncer may have fled the country, and two people are suspected of aiding in his escape.

Last week, photos of four people linked to a deadly shooting at The Green Olive were released by investigators. The photos were of surveillance video taken from the night David Luna, 41, was shot and killed while trying to break up a fight.

The photos were shared on social media.

On Thursday, police identified one of the men in the group as the alleged shooter — Angel Cazares. Detectives also learned that Cazares, 22, and the other persons of interest live in Lodi. The other people wanted for questioning are witnesses in the case, officers said.

With the help of Lodi police, detectives went to Cazares’ home. The suspect wasn't there.

Police believe that shortly after the suspect's photo was released, Maria Bautista and Mario Bustos helped Cazares escape to Mexico.

Bautista and Bustos were arrested and booked into Tulare County Pretrial Facility on suspicion of accessory to homicide.

"The Visalia Police Department would like to thank the community for your help and assistance in the identification of Cazares and the other persons of interest," officers stated in a press release.

If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Cazares, call Detective Daniel McBride at 713-4211. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the Tipline at 713-4738.
