Greenbrier County man facing drug charges after search of home

CHARMCO, WV (WVNS) — A 47-year-old Charmco man was arrested after a search warrant was carried out on a Greenbrier County home.

According to a press release from the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant for a home in the Charmco area of Greenbrier County was given because of a prior investigation.

Oak Hill woman sentenced for felony drug crime

When the warrant was carried out on Wednesday January 24, 2024, deputies discovered large amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and varying amounts of other drugs. A large amount of money was also taken from the home.

As a result of the search, James Matthew Walkup, 47, of Charmco, was arrested and charged with with two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Walkup was taken to the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver, West Virginia.

Troopers with the West Virginia State Police Rainelle Detachment helped in carrying out the search of the home.
