Greene County woman dies in car crash near Bloomington

A Greene County woman died Friday when another vehicle apparently crossed the center line on Ind. 45 west of Bloomington and struck her car head-on.

The collision happened about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ind. 45 and Eller Road.

When Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived, they found that 32-year-old Haylee Keller of Switz City had died at the scene.

The driver of the other car, identified as Zachary Seiger of Putnam County, sustained incapacitating injuries to his lower legs and torso.

A news release from the sheriff's department said witnesses reported that Seiger, who was westbound on the two-lane highway, traveled left of center and collided with Keller's eastbound car.

The crash remains under investigation by an accident reconstructionist.
